What's up, you morning witches? Nick and Shannon are talking all things magic in the morning. From Shannon's extensive morning ritual to the magical associations of the beloved coffee bean. If you wanna get magical in the a.m., they got you.

In honor of the dark half of the year being in full swing (hello, 5 pm sunsets), Nick and Shannon are talking about things that are a little spooky and a little sleepy.

In the newest installment of Nick's journey into the world of magical creatures, he talks about all things ELVES! Nick and Shannon also crown the "Lord of the Twinks"...you'll never guess who they picked (JK, you probably will if you've listened before).

Shannon gets into another common culinary herb that packs a powerful magical/medicinal kick - Thyme! This one is a great ally for the holiday season (which of course coincides with cold and flu season...stress lowering your immune system?). To round out the theme, she had to cover the King of the Elves - Freyr!

In the next installment of Nick's series on magical creatures, it's time to burninate the countryside with...DRAGONS! That's right, he's covering all things dragon-y, including plenty of Trogdor jokes. Of course, it only made sense to cover Vulcan as the weekly deity. Plot twist, this is a lot more mermaid-y than anyone could have anticipated (unless you're a Vulcan expert, in which case, good for you smarty pants).

On theme, Shannon covers Tarragon. This common culinary herb has some sweet magical and medicinal uses that make it a great culinary ally for the stressful holiday season ahead - unless you're one of those weirdos that experiences zero stress during the holiday season...in which case...this maybe isn't relevant for you?

Potions, Foxglove, and Ceridwen

This week, Nick and Shannon are talking all about POTIONS! Nick starts with some fun facts about historical potion ingredients (including bugs....among other things). They then discuss how you can use herbal formulary as a foundation for crafting your very own potions, and designing your herbal grimoire. 

Since it's officially spooky season, they also have to give a warning about working with poisons unsupervised! They also both discuss murder...these two topics may be related.

Shannon does an herbal profile on Foxglove, including a very special spell that calls on this flower to keep your secrets. Fun! Finally, can't talk potions without covering Ceridwen - the underworld goddess, and the keeper of the cauldron herself.

Welcome to the CRONE ZONE!!!!

This week, Nick covers the most iconic crone of all time - the Baba Yaga. He then dishes on the Norse Fates, the Norns (or the Nornir). Despite what Shakespeare and Terry Pratchett may have led the world to believe, the Wyrd Sisters are giantess and sexy...not old and warty.

Shannon talks about the spicy, punchy, and hot Oregano! This magical plant can help with fungus and boils and forgetting about your awful ex. What a multi-hyphenate baddie.
